Director of Sales
Melanie Luark has been around the equine industry her entire life. By 1992, when Rex Ewing hired her to help horses live longer, run faster, and jump higher, she was an established horsewoman with experience in breeding, training, and competing. For more than 25 years, Mel has been instrumental in research and development, operations, and marketing for the John Ewing Company. She now heads up the entire Horse Logic Professional brand.
Kent McKendry is the President and General Manager of John Ewing Company. Kent joined the JEC team in 2014 after spending five years as a Major League Baseball front office executive with the Colorado Rockies. Kent is passionate about creating innovative business models and systems. In 2017, after identifying many of the inefficiencies in the equine nutraceutical industry, Kent worked with the JEC team to create a Horse Logic Professional brand and business model that has proven to be an industry disruptor. The passion of baseball fans for their teams may only be surpassed by the passion of horse owners for their animals, and Kent considers himself blessed to be surrounded by a team that continues to help these horse owners provide professional quality care of their horses.
Kent graduated summa cum laude from the University of Denver and subsequently earned an MBA from DU’s Daniels College of Business in 2011. He is “Husband” to Nichole … “Dad” to Kallon, Kinsley and Maisey … “Coach” to many budding tee-ball superstars in Erie, CO … and hopeless on the golf course.
